Webster: Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the age of 78. Predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Stanislava (nee Bodnaruk); sons, Thaddeus and Stefan; uncle, Walter Hoholuk; half-brother, Richard Szwabowicz; brother-in-law, Edward Roman and numerous family members in Europe. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lucy Hoholuk; sons, Richard (MaryAnn) Hoholuk with their children / John’s granddaughters, Zorianna Maria and Sophia Luciana; Stanislaw (Suzanne) Hoholuk and their children, Issac, Caleb, Liam and Jack; Jan’s sisters, Marysia Ostropolska, Krystyna Rudzka; brothers-in-law, Richard (Danuta) Roman and Thaddeus (Lydia) Roman; sister-in-law, Nancy Roman; cousins, Luba (Joe) Zambuto, Anna (Danny) Margolycz, Yaroslav Ivantsiuk; half-brother, Władysław Szwabowicz; half-sister, Danuta Garewicz, and many cousins, nieces and nephews - Hoholuk, Bodnaruk, Ivantsiuk, Pacholuk, Tuzinkiewicz, Malanczuk, Maślanka and Witwicki. 

Jan was born in Isakiv, (Ivano-Frankivsk) Ukraine. With the love and support of his uncle and aunt Walter and Natalia Hoholuk, he came to America in October 1973. He worked at Alliance Tool and Die in his early years and then retired after many years at P&R Industries. He enjoyed gardening and making wine which he learned from his uncle Walter. He was very active at St. Theresa’s church and then at St. Stanislaus. He enjoyed many years of league bowling at the Ukrainian Civic Center.  Jan was a very smart and talented man, a life long tinkerer who could never sit still and could fix anything. He frequently worked on various home projects and renovations. You could always find him in his backyard taking care of his lawn and vegetable garden or his vineyard, When inside, he was sewing, stamp collecting and Watching wrestling and soccer. He will be greatly missed by friends and family especially those who will always remember him telling his jokes in his own unique way with his own custom vocabulary making everyone laugh.

His family will receive friends Friday, March 15, 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday, March 16, 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church for his Funeral Mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
