Webster: Wednesday, September 30, 2015. William was born in Ukraine on January 12, 1925. After a very turbulent yet adventurous early life, he and his family in 1942 relocated to Germany and in 1945 were moved to a displaced persons camp. In 1945 at the end of WWII, William served as a civilian interpreter for the U. S. Army until 1949 when he was given the opportunity to come to the United States. Upon accepting the offer to come to America, William arrived in Cortland, NY. After a short time, he was able to bring his family together and eventually settled in Rochester, NY. Here he met his wife, Irene, establishing roots for his new life. William is preceded by his wife Irene, parents Anna & Antin, in-laws Luba & Jewhen Krasnowolskij, brother Anthony, sister & brother-in-law Kateryna & Petro Hinczak. He leaves behind his sons, Eugene (Sandy), Anthony and William, brother & sister-in-law Michael (Nadia), sisters Stefania Telega and Anna Hulse, grandson Mykola, niece, Lesia Telega and other family members in the U.S. and Canada, along with very many loved ones and friends. His family will receive friends Sunday 2:00 - 5:00pm at the funeral home, (Panachyda 4:30pm) Friends are invited to meet the family Monday 10:00am at Ukrainian Catholic Church of Epiphany for his Divine Liturgy. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626 or Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Epiphany, Orphan Fund, 220 Carter St., Rochester, NY 14621.
