Knapp, Dorothy M. Irondequoit: Friday, August 29, 2014 at the age of 89. Pre-deceased by her husband, Leo; son, Thomas; granddaughter, Laura. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth (Richard) Myers; son, Donald Knapp; brother, Herbert K. Scales; daughters-in-law, Nancy Knapp & Georgianna Shearn; grandchildren, Michael Knapp, Richard Knapp, Brian Knapp, Elizabeth Cowell; great grandchildren, Benjamin, Austin & Marissa Knapp; special great great grandchildren, Victoria & Justin Myers-Fennell. Dorothy was born in Louisville, Kentucky and was the church secretary for many years at Seneca United Methodist Church in Irondequoit. She loved her camp at Sylvan Beach, NY and spent over 60 summers there, passing that love onto her family. Her family will receive friends THURSDAY 4-6pm at the Harris Family Center, (560 Kings Hwy S, located behind the funeral home) where her memorial service will follow at 6:00pm. Interment will be held in private at White Haven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
